Kia Sportage: Seat Belt System / Emergency Fastening Device (EFD) Repair procedures

Disconnect the battery negative terminal, and wait for at least three
minutes before beginning to work.

2. |
Remove the front anchor seat belt (A) by using the SST (0K888-D4200).


If the SST(OK888-4200) is not available, use a tool meeting the secifications
below to remove it.
Tools to be used
Tool A : hex wrench screwdriver or drill with diameter
of 3 mm and length of 56 mm or more.
Tool B : screwdriver or drill with diameter of 3 mm.

Remove the door scurff trim.
(Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "Door scuff trim")

Remove the center pillar trim.
(Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "Center pillar trim)
|
5. |
After removing the anchor Pretensioner connector (A) and fixing bolt
(B), remove the anchor Pretensioner.
Tightening torque :
39.2 - 53.9 N.m (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb·ft)

Installation is the reverse of removal.
